Blackline GPS is a mobile GPS firm specializing in security, monitoring and recovery services.
Blackline GPS was founded by Patrick Rousseau & Brendon Cook in 2004. The companies initial product line was the Fuel GPS, a high-accuracy GPS device for tracking and analyzing racing vehicle lap times.
Blackline GPS began developing and manufacturing portable GPS enabled security devices in 2006 and lone worker safety devices in 2007. They launched a Blackberry smartphone app in 2007, beating well known apps like Google Latitude into this market space by nearly two years.
Blackline GPS was acquired by Picasso Inc in late 2008 in a reverse takeover. Clark Swanson was elevated to the role of President and CEO in early 2009.
Blackline GPS has gone on to partner with Escort, re-branding their GPS Snitch product line under the Entourage brand and have announced a relationship with the American Red Cross to provide tracking and emergency service management for vehicles and personnel.
Blackline GPS has been profiled by IDC as one of the 10 Canadian Mobile Consumer and Enterprise Solutions to Watch
